Nanno, one of the first true on-demand childcare platforms, is excited to support Women Who Startup by providing free on-site childcare during basecamp events! The childcare revolution is here -- and that starts with not missing cool events like this one because of the impossibility (and expense) of finding childcare. Let your kids hang out with our great caregivers while you get schooled in the world of startups! Please fill out this form and let us know information about your kiddo(s), so we can make sure to have the right caregivers (and age-appropriate activities) on hand!

Startup Conversations

Startup Conversations

Let's meet at Open Door Brewery in Prospect from 5pm-7pm. So come on out for fun and meaningful conversations with good people in and around the entrepreneurial community.

Startup Longmont hosts this open happy hour event every other Monday for the purpose of developing the Longmont entrepreneurial culture and community. This is an opportunity to join with others in the area who are involved in a startup, starting a business, developing ideas, or have experience, knowledge, and services that startups need to thrive. Open to all, so bring your friends!

“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.” –Nolan Bushnell, Entrepreneur

Check out the other Startup Longmont meetups like the Open Coffee Club which meets alternating Tuesdays at 8am, or other monthly and bi-weekly opportunities around funding, pitching, and more! Have an idea, we'd love to hear it or just make it happen. Board SUL

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for Startups. Oxymoron or essential?

KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for Startups. Oxymoron or essential?

Friday Brown Bag Series Topic: KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for Startups. Oxymoron or essential?

Metrics in a startup often involve basic survival. My friend called it the "relish" diet. "We are out of hot dogs, down to the little relish packets . . . ." Yet investors like/want/need metrics, often to an absurd level (for a startup), to try and mitigate their (and your) lack of understanding of your business. Yet metrics can also help tell your evolving story. Even if they are lacking or inappropriate or completely fictional at this stage, they help construct what success might look like, and gives you and your team targets to achieve and measure and track.

We will explore these conventions, both useful and silly, and how to create them, and hopefully help you both build your business and raise the capital to keep it growing.

We encourage collective masterminding with each other about the common challenges entrepreneurs face, and the pooling of resources.
